Recently, there has been a lot of talk about the health benefits of turmeric and recipes for dishes that it would ideally fit into. Ultimately, many researchers have confirmed that the regular addition of turmeric to food can provide health benefits.

Turmeric is a perennial plant from the genus of ginger. Its root is dried and made from it a well-known seasoning.

Positive properties of turmeric:

  • Improves attention and increases concentration;
  • In combination with cardio exercises, it improves the activity of the cardiovascular system;
  • Reduces the growth of fat cells;
  • Promotes the prevention of cancer;
  • Improves digestion;
  • Cleans the liver;
  • Reduces the level of bad cholesterol (LDL);
  • Strengthens the immune system due to the content of lipopolysaccharide.
  • Turmeric is available in two forms: as a whole root or as a powder ground.

A few examples of cooking applications:

  • Combine ground turmeric root with Greek yogurt, then add lemon juice to it. In the resulting mixture, you can marinate fish or chicken;
  • Add turmeric to boiling water when cooking brown rice;
  • Sprinkle turmeric over cauliflower or broccoli before placing in the oven;
  • Add some turmeric to your protein shake;
  • Brew tea by rubbing some turmeric into a kettle;
  • Add turmeric while cooking scrambled eggs and vegetables;
  • For salad dressing, mix turmeric with olive oil, white wine, and mustard;
  • Add turmeric to homemade or store-bought sauces;
  • To marinade pork or chicken, mix olive oil with turmeric, lemon juice, garlic, and salt.

Contraindications:

  • Exacerbation of gastrointestinal diseases: stomach and duodenal ulcers, gastritis, pancreatitis, duodenitis;
  • Hepatitis;
  • Jaundice;
  • Stones in the biliary tract and gallbladder;
  • Pregnancy.
