The promotion race in the 2nd Bundesliga is increasing in intensity and tension. After SpVgg Greuther Fürth suffered their first second round defeat in the top game Holstein Kiel on Monday and defeated them 2-1 (1-1), four teams are now tied with 42 points each after the 22nd matchday. Despite three games in a row without a win, Hamburger SV remains ahead of the table due to the best goal difference (plus 20), followed by Fürth (18), Bochum (17) and Kiel (15). Alexander Mühling from Kiel gave the defeated, but effective Fürthern victory with an own goal (83rd). Joshua Mees (4th) had brought the away undefeated guests into the lead, Havard Nielsen (27th) equalized for the home team. The Fürth had to do without Julian Green for a short time because of a positive corona test.
