80-year-old cyclist suspended for doping!
The shadow of doping continues to haunt the cycling world and continues to do so with cases as notorious as that of our protagonist today.
What about Barbara Gicquel borders on surrealism and is that her 80 years the North American cyclist has been sanctioned by USADA for a whole year after confirming your positive for metabolites of methyltestoterone, a prohibited anabolic product.
In addition to the penalty, Gicquel has been automatically dispossessed of his world record of 500 meters time trial in his age category (75-79 years) and of his national titles of individual pursuit, sprint and time trial.
The positive confirmed by USADA precisely verifies the use of doping substances during the same competition.
The veteran cyclist alleged in her day that she was taking a drug that contained the substance. The USADA did not accept the appeal and ruled that the documentation provided did not demonstrate the need to take the drug.
Seeing is believing!
