News : Adrián Ben, a year later
More than a year has passed since Adri Ben’s emergence into the world’s midfielder elite.
It was in the 800 meters test of the Doha World Cup where this young Galician athlete arrived as a young talent and became Emir in Qatar. Ben made it to the semifinals with 1.46.12, second in his series. Without a doubt, the move to the second round was already a success for him. But the best was yet to come. In the semifinals he ran like a veteran, like a world-renowned athlete, and made a personal mark (1.44.97, the only one to beat his best mark in all the semis), achieving history and becoming the second ever Spanish in run an 800 final where he managed to be sixth in the world with another mark for the sack (1.45.58). A true blessing. An athlete to be taken into account in major competitions from now on.
A year later we were with him in Viveiro, his hometown, while he recovered from an injury that left him out of the season outdoors. While he was charging the batteries, we got to know firsthand how his life has changed since then, we talked about the anticipation generated and his big dreams.
