After Christopher Froome crashes teammate Geraint Thomas hard

Tour de France winner Geraint Thomas fell heavily on the fourth leg of the Tour de Suisse and seriously injured himself about three weeks before the start of the Tour de France. The 33-year-old Briton crashed 30 kilometers from the finish and was treated by the doctors for several minutes. As his team told Ineos a short time later, Thomas had to give up the race. He was also taken to a hospital for further examinations.
Just last week, Thomas' team-mate Christopher Froome had been badly injured in a fall during a cruise during the Critérium du Dauphiné. The four-time Tour winner bounced at 54 km / h against a wall and broke his thigh, hip and elbow.
Froome is definitely out for the Tour de France. Whether Ineos, the former Team Sky, even without the defending champion, is still unclear.
The stage win was secured by the Italian Elia Viviani in a mass sprint ahead of Michael Matthews and three-time World Champion Peter Sagan. The German John Degenkolb was twelfth.
