News : After ghost games: Hansa Rostock can play in front of fans again against Halle

777 spectators are allowed to visit the Ostseestadion for the East Derby on Saturday. The state government had previously sent positive signals. She wanted to propose that for the home game of Hansa on Saturday against Halleschen FC 777 spectators in the 30,000-seat Ostseestadion.

The so-called seven-day incidence there is around 23 registered infections per 100,000 inhabitants within one week. For the whole of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania the value was around 64, nationwide 90.

Hansa Rostock is the first club to play in front of fans again – with quick tests

For the return of the fans, FC Hansa developed a hygiene concept that has been confirmed by the local health department. According to this, only season ticket holders and VIP ticket holders from Hansa partner companies living in Rostock should be admitted. Anyone who has previously passed a rapid test with a negative result is granted access. They would be tested at the stadium entrance, said Health Minister Harry Glawe (CDU).

Hansa Rostock will only open the north and west stadium areas and the VIP area for the game against Halle. “This is only the first serve,” said CEO Robert Marien. The aim is to allow 3,000 visitors. The start with the reduced number of 777 spectators only serves to gather experience about time and organizational processes that can be refined later.

Sophisticated test concept

Depending on the stadium area, the club has prepared various test strategies. For one group, so-called expressways will be built at the stadium, for the other grandstand there are swab centers in the morning in the city center and at the stadium. A so-called drive-in concept with tests in the car applies to the VIP guests. Rapid tests are used throughout. “We keep the costs for this first attempt,” said Marien, who hired around 50 helpers for the test roads.

The third division handball team HC Empor Rostock and the second division basketball team Rostock Seawolves also contributed to the concept. Both want to start with around 350 spectators in the town hall. If the concept proves its worth, the number of viewers is to be increased gradually there.
