From 31 August to 15 September, 32 will compete basketball-Nationalmannschaften. As always, the USA selection is a big favorite. But other teams have NBA stars in their squad. The DBB team has Dennis Schröder, Maximilian Kleber and Daniel Theis equal to 3 NBA stars in his ranks. The German squad for basketball World Cup 2019 in China

Germany has sovereignly qualified in the European preliminary round. The preliminary squad consists of currently 13 players. In addition to the NBA stars of the German BBL selection start players from the BBL, the Russian Basketball League, the Spanish League ACB and the Turkish BSL. On the positions are now set:

  • Daniel Theis (Power Forward / Small Forward, NBA - Boston Celtics)
  • Robin Benzing (Power Forward / Small Forward, Liga ACB - Basket Zaragoza)
  • Niels Giffey (Power Forward / Small Forward, BBL - Alba Berlin)

National coach Henrik Rödl and his assistant Ralph Held have prepared the 12 players intensively for the upcoming challenges. In the test games, the DBB selection has presented well. The last preparation game against Australia was won relatively well with 74: 64.
