Bernhard Langer from Anhausen near Augsburg is one of the most successful athletes in German sports history. The 63-year-old won more than 110 golf tournaments worldwide. Most significant were his triumphs in 1985 and 1993 at the Masters in Augusta in the US state of Georgia. At the Ryder Cup, the continental duel between Europe and the USA, he won six times as a player in ten participations and once as captain (2004). For 13 years, Langer has also been collecting titles in a row on the Seniors’ Champions Tour in the USA and has won each of the five majors at least once.
