Brazil star Neymar: Police make recommendation on alleged rape
The Brazilian police have closed the investigation into rape allegations against football star Neymar. The chief investigator Juliana Lopes Bussacos have the allegations of a model against the striker of the French first division Paris Saint Germain examined in detail and decided not to make a recommendation for a lawsuit, reported the news portal G1 on Monday.
The model accuses Neymar of forcing her into sex in mid-May in Paris in a drunken state and "using force". Neymar admits that she met the woman in Paris, but always rejected the rape allegations.
The public prosecutor now has 15 days to decide what to do next. It may, contrary to the recommendation of the police, bring charges against Neymar, file the case or request further investigation.
