News : Brooks, a pioneer in sneakers: Allows athletes to wear other brands
The North American brand Brooks has become a pioneer in the world of running footwear and athletics with a statement that can mark a before and after. Some will say that it is a shot at their own foot, others that it is a smart move so that the athletes they represent remain faithful to the brand and do not join the ‘exodus’ that has already occurred in other patents in search of that carbon plate shoe that gives the wearer the most advantage.
“Our duty as leaders in the sport is to find the best possible product so that our runners have more ‘advantage’ to reach the finish line. With the innovations in shoes that have occurred in the last 12 months, we understand our obligation as leaders in running to be part of this movement. As part of our work to recover the moment we went through before the COVID pandemic, we are not able to provide or bring to market our best shoes before the Olympic trials for our athletes. As a consequence, we offer the athletes we sponsor the option to compete with competitive products. because we understand the importance of footwear today. As we do not stop looking to the future, we are confident that our Blue Line lab’s-Brooks line will soon be operational and on the market and will be of maximum guarantees ”, reads the statement.
Until now we have seen all kinds of tricks by athletes who wore other brands without a carbon plate to put on, for example, the Vaporfly without the brand of the shoe being seen (covered with dye) although it was counterproductive and was even more evident. Highlight that BRooks on the road do have a shoe with a carbon fiber plate, the Brooks Hyperion Elite.
Well, the rules of the hunted are already changing in many ways. @brooksrunning makes an official statement where it will let its athletes compete with competitive footwear in the next American Olympic Trials. pic.twitter.com/Nd3x82BhRt
