Cross-country skier Laura Gimmler (Oberstdorf) provided a real highlight at the World Cup final in Engadin / Switzerland. The 27-year-old finished fourth in the classic-style mass start race over 10 km, her best World Cup result to date. Katharina Hennig (Oberwiesenthal) in sixth and Victoria Carl (Zella-Mehlis) in tenth were also fast. The Russian Julia Stupak won on Saturday in 25: 13.3 minutes, Gimmler’s deficit at the finish was 16.4 seconds. Overall World Cup winner Jessie Diggins (USA) finished fifth. Top favorite Therese Johaug (Norway), who recently won four gold medals at the World Cup, was unable to compete due to an inflammation of her wrist.
