At the World Matchplay 2019 in Blackpool a total of 32 darts professionals are on the oche. From world champion Michael van Gerwen about the current number 2 in the world, Rob Cross, to the Scottish darts stars Peter "Snakebite" Wright and Gary "The Flying Scotsman" Anderson are also players like Max Hopp from Germany, Gerwyn Price, Mensur Suljovic from Austria or the Australian Simon Whitlock from the party. The World Matchplay is not just about prestige but also about money: the winner can win a whopping 150,000 pounds sterling, the runner up is allowed to go home with 70,000 pounds. Those who make it to the semi-finals will receive £ 50,000, while quarter-finalists will receive £ 25.00 in the 2019 World Matchplay.
