The German women's national football team has started with a laborious work victory in the World Cup in France. The team of national coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg won on Saturday before 15 238 spectators in Roahzon Park in Rennes their opening match in Group B with 1-0 (0-0) against China.
The 19-year-old Guilia Gwinn from SC Freiburg scored after 66 minutes the winning goal for the superior DFB team with a shot from the edge of the box. On Wednesday, the two-time world champion meets in the second round match in Valenciennes on Spain.
