+++ 23.03.2021: Bradl again Marquez replacement at the start of the MotoGP season +++

Stefan Bradl will replace eight-time motorcycle world champion Marc Marquez again at least in the first two races of the MotoGP season. “Marc Marquez’s upper arm injury has still not completely healed. On Sunday it was decided that he would have to pause the first two races in Qatar and that I could replace him,” said 31-year-old Zahlinger on the Austrian broadcaster ServusTV on Monday evening.

The Honda racing team had previously announced that the 28-year-old Spaniard was not yet fit enough. The earliest start for him would be on April 18 at the Portuguese Grand Prix in Portimão. So Bradl will start for him next Sunday and a week later in Doha. He had already done a few tests.

Marquez had seriously injured his right upper arm in a fall in the first race last season and missed the rest of the World Cup. In December, he underwent a bone transplant. Bradl had stood in for him in eleven Grand Prix races. The German achieved his best result with seventh place at the season finale in Portimão.
