Handball - Kraus remains at second division - sports

Former handball world champion Michael Kraus plays in the second Bundesliga next season. The 35-year-old signed a relegation SG Bietigheim a two-year contract. Kraus had already played in the last Bundesliga round for the SG and was relegated with her. Now the back space player wants to help with the resurgence. Kraus had become world champion in 2007 under coach Heiner Brand, a few months ago, the playmaker had flirted with a change abroad. Instead, he now waives part of his salary. Without concessions from Kraus the obligation for the club would not have been possible, said SG managing director Bastian Spahlinger. Kraus should also help the club to win new sponsors in the future.
