News : Hassan’s barbarity in Brussels; Marta Pérez touches the Spanish Record

Hassan has triumphed again, this time in Brussels

Spectacular mile race at the Diamond League Memorial Van Damme in Brussels. The last stage of the best competition in the world has left us a test with Meeting record of the extraterrestrial Sifan Hassan, who stopped the clock at 4.14.74, surpassing the record that Kenyan Faith Kipyegon had until now (4.16.71). The Dutchwoman has fallen just over two seconds away from her World Record, which she achieved in 2019 at the Louis II Stadium in Monaco (4.12.33).

Hassan has practically run the entire test alone, following the hare Nalyanya, who has been magnificent setting the pace for her. Another landslide victory for the triple Olympic medalist in Tokyo, which promises strong emotions (even more so) for the future. As for the Spanish Marta Pérez and Esther Guerrero, the Soriana has remained just four tenths of the Spanish Record of Núria Fernández (4.21.13). Pérez was fourth with a mark of 4.21.58; Guerrero has achieved a personal best and finished seventh with another mark of 4.22.81.

The Australian Linden Hall has entered third (4.21.38) with a personal best and Oceania Record.
