Hassan's world record in the mile
The Dutch Sifan Hassan broke the world record for the mile in the Luis II stadium in Monaco with a time of 4: 12.33, exceeding in 23 hundredths the previous record of Svetlana Masterkova that was 23 years old.
Hassan, who came to the appointment with a new European record of 3,000 meters (8:18:49) achieved in Eugene days ago, seemed to be out of record pace with a step of 2: 08.05 the 800. The second partial was simply masterly, 809 meters in an impressive 2: 04.28. The athlete, born in Ethiopia and a refugee to the Netherlands at 15 years of age, has already expressed her willingness to double in the 1500 and 5,000 in Doha, home of the world championships in September.
