Jornet makes the leap to the route this Saturday / Instagram

The town of Honefoss, about 45 minutes from Oslo, will have the honor of hosting the premiere of Kilian Jornet in a road test. The Catalan mountain runner has spent months thoroughly preparing his debut and showing us his training on the track with some more than interesting numbers. The truth is that the expectations and the illusion on the part of athletics lovers is maximum to see what Jornet is capable of, settled in the Norwegian fjords together with his partner, the also ‘trail runner’ Emilie Forsberg, and their daughter.

It is the 10k Hytteplanmila, the fastest test in Norway in which one of the world-wide names of the mediofondo will also participate, such as Jakob Ingebrigtsen. The youngest of the brothers achieved the National Record for the distance last year with 27:54 and this year he is looking to reissue a record.

Some annoyances and predictions

In the case of Kilian, the runner himself has published a message on his Instagram account in which he has valued this debut in a road test and has left us a couple of interesting reflections: “It will be my first run on a flat surface, something that only 2 years ago I thought (and said) that I would never do because it was so boring. run on the flat. This year I did change the training. I started calculating the distance instead of the elevation and it was interesting and fun at the same time, ”he says.

“I had a good block of training for a few weeks until two weeks ago I felt pain in the tibia and calf, so the last 2 weeks have been mainly recovery and trying to maintain key sessions,” says Kilian, who speaks immediately followed by its objectives: “As a newbie, my expectations are not high. I’d be very happy if I could scratch my training PB for a few seconds and do around 29:30. It will be fun to hit the road and keep this hiatus flat until the ice and snow start coming. “
