The Milanese have won the title in Italy for the first time in eleven years. Ajax are again champions in the Netherlands. It’s exciting in Spain.
Italy: Inter Milan get the Scudetto
Inter Milan ended Juventus Turin’s dominance in Italy’s Serie A and conquered Scudetto for the 19th time. It is the first title win for the traditional Lombard club since 2010. The team of coach Antonio Conte had extended their table lead with a 2-0 (0-0) at the bottom of the league FC Crotone on Saturday. With the 1-1 (1-0) of pursuers Atalanta Bergamo on Sunday at US Sassuolo, Inter’s title win four game days before the end of the season was perfect. Most recently, Juve won the title nine times in a row. Christian Eriksen (69th) had put Inter in the lead four minutes after being substituted on, the ex-Dortmund Achraf Hakimi (90th + 2) made everything clear. The Nerazzurri have been unbeaten in 15 games.
Spain: Atlético Madrid won very happily
Atlético Madrid remain on course after an immensely lucky win in the race for their first championship title since 2014. On matchday 34 of the Primera Division, the team of coach Diego Simeone won 1-0 (1-0) at relegation-threatened FC Elche, for which Fidel Chaves shot a penalty to the post in stoppage time (90 + 1). Atletico (76 points) are therefore still ahead of local rivals Real Madrid (74), who beat CA Osasuna 2-0 (0-0) in the evening after initial difficulties. FC Barcelona (71) will have to compete at Valencia CF on Sunday evening (9 p.m.).
In Elche, Marcos Llorente (24th) scored for Atlético, who, after a sovereign performance up to then, became careless in the final phase and had to tremble for victory. After a stupid handball Llorentes in the penalty area threatened a bitter setback. Real coach Zinedine Zidane waived Tino Kroos and Luka Modric four days before the semi-final second leg of the Champions League at Chelsea (first leg 1-1). Eder Militao (76th) and Casemiro (80th) took care of the goals. Next Saturday (4.15 p.m.) Barcelona and Atletico will face each other in a groundbreaking duel at Camp Nou.
France: PSG put forward, Lille countered
The thrilling head-to-head race in the French football championship continues. The 2: 1 (1: 0) success of the defending champions Paris Saint-Germain against the strong promoted RC Lens countered a few hours later with a 2: 0 (1: 0) against OGC Nice. Lille is one point ahead of PSG. Neymar (33.) and Marquinhos (59.) scored the goals for Paris. Coach Mauricio Pochettino spared some regular players with a view to the semi-final second leg in the Champions League on Tuesday at Manchester City (first leg 1: 2). The ailing world champion Kylian Mbappe (calf injury) was not in the squad at all. National player Julian Draxler was in the starting line-up and prepared the first goal. Thilo Kehrer came on early for Colin Dagba (19th). Ignatius Ganago shortened for the guests (61st).

The Dutch U21 international Jurrien Timber put the record champions in the lead in the tenth minute. Former Bundesliga strikers from Eintracht Frankfurt Sebastien Haller (61st) and Devyne Rensch (66th) increased, the former Werder Bremen midfield engine Davy Klaassen (74th) put the finishing touches.
