Iraitz Arrospide, new 50km world champion; Alicia Pérez, bronze

Marathoner Iraitz Arrospide has slightly raised his fetish distance to reach 50 kilometers with such success that World champion has been proclaimed in Brasov (Romania) with a mark of 2:47:41 beating the South African Lungile Gongqa (2.48.26) and the British Daniel Nash (2.49.01). In a fairly tight race, Arrospide (Real Sociedad) has been the most regular and the one that has finished finest a very hard test and under fairly harsh conditions of heat despite the fact that the race has started very soon and what it is about from a fairly mountainous region of the Romanian country.
Spain record for Arrospide
The Basque was called by the RFEA to contest this non-Olympic test and its performance has been spectacular. Iraitz has a better marathon mark of 2:13:23 and with his registration in Brasov he is the new national record holder of distance (Asier Cuevas also participated, who had the record so far with 2:57:35).
Another joy has come to us from the feminine section, where the Spanish Alicia Pérez has hung the bronze medal with a mark of 3:15:09, behind the British Alyson Dixon (3.07.20) and Alicia Pérez (3.15.09). It should be noted that Pérez, of the Serrano Club Atletismo, achieved this year the second best historical mark in the 10k of Valencia with 35:29.
