Jan Margarit, from CA Granollers, and Nuria Gil, from CE Penedés, achieved victory this weekend in the Spanish Trail Running Championships, held in Liencres (Cantabria).

With a time of 1 hour, 2 minutes and 26 secondsJan Margarit sealed his victory this Sunday and his qualification for the European and World Cup. He won alone, with a 39-second margin over Alejandro García, from the Atletisme Crevillent club.

Martínez and Hernández complete the podium

The absolute podium was completed by Antonio Martínez, from the Marathon Crevillente (1h03: 15). He took four seconds from Eduardo Hernández (CE Penedés) in the fight for the third box, after 16 kilometers of a demanding route, which skirted the coast, passing through Tolío and La Picota and a cumulative difference of 540 meters.

In the same framework, it was held on Saturday the women’s event, which ended with a victory for Nuria Gil (CE Penedés) in 1 hour, 12 minutes and 43 seconds. In addition to the national title, he took the ticket for the European Championship in Portugal and the World Cup in Thailand, as confirmed by the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation (RFEA).

He was accompanied on the podium by Yolanda Martín (1:13:21), who will also compete in the European event, and Oihana Kortazar (1:13: 45).
