Kamworor recovers from a motorcycle accident
The Kenyan athlete recovers in an Eldoret hospital after being hit by a motorcycle while running.
The Daily Nation reported this morning a news that has alerted the world of athletics. Kamworor, double world champion in cross country and owner and gentleman in the half marathon distance, recovers in an Eldoret hospital after being injured in a motorcycle accident that would have caused him an incomplete fracture of the right tibia, bruises on his knee and laceration of the scalp, which have required surgery.
Kamworor himself recounted to Daiky Nation what had happened: "I was a kilometer away from my home during my morning race when a high-speed motorcycle hit me from behind and I fell hurting my leg." "Also the head and he helped me up and took me to the hospital where they admitted me."
Things of destiny, the events happened yesterday, the day the New York Marathon announced its cancellation, a test in which Kamworor has stood out especially in recent years, with two victories and a second and third place.
Kamworor had shifted his readiness to defend his half-marathon world championship title, a distance from which he is also a record-breaker with a mark of 58:01 achieved in Copenhagen days after our interview with him and his trainer Patrick, Sang, rescheduled for on October 17 in Gdynia, Poland.
