Liverpool beat Norwich: One-Hit Wonder Teemu Pukki
Scene of the game: Divock Origi danced the ball on the left corner of the box and hit him flat on suspicion. Grant Hanley could have just thrown off the pass, but the Norwich defender fouled the ball with his right foot so badly that he jumped into the long goal. The first goal of the new Premier League season is an own goal. That was indicative of the game of Norwich.
The result: Liverpool have started the new season 4: 1 against promoted Norwich City. Read the game report here.
German-German duels: Anyone who saw the lineup of Norwich discovered some familiar names. There were Marco Stiepermann, the former Dortmund, Tom Trybull, the former Saint Paul and Teemu Pukki, the ex-Schalke, to see. On the bench sat S04 loan Ralf Fährmann, as well as the former Dortmund talent Moritz Leitner and Josip Drmic, who came from Gladbach. Coach is Daniel Farke, former coach of the second team of BVB. Who would have thought that this selection would play against Champions League winners Liverpool and Jürgen Klopp?

First half: Last season's runner-up Liverpool dominated the first half as a matter of course. After Hanley's own goal (7th), Salah (19th), Virgil, headed for a corner (28th) and Origi (42nd). Norwich had shone as a winner of the past championship season with short-pass match and wanted to bring the tactics against Liverpool on the lawn. That succeeded in a few attacks. At the same time defended the climber but so weak that it resulted in the high gap to the break.
Wired: The biggest problems in the break but had the referee team. Main referee Michael Oliver and his assistant Simon Bennett apparently heard noises on their radios and had to be rewired. This delayed the kick-off to the second half by a few minutes. But when Bennett ran his little pennant over the lawn to his side, the audience gave a warm round of applause.
Second half: Liverpool started in the second leg with a big double chance for a possible 5: 0. Only Norwich goalkeeper Tim Krul steered a shot from Henderson with a strong reaction to the bar, shortly afterwards Roberto Firmino struck a ball just before the empty goal. One hit the Reds no longer achieved, but Norwich came to a consensus goal.
One-hit wonder: Actually, everyone in the stadium should have known that there is still a goal. For former Schalke Pukki built his impressive series: For the eighth time in a row he scored with his first shot in a new season (64). As a temporary worker for first season games he could develop a business model. But even otherwise, the Finn is goal-scoring, in the ascending season, he was with 29 goals top scorer.
Moment of shock: Although Liverpool was pleased with a sovereign victory at the start, nevertheless coach Klopp made a worried face shortly before the break. Goalkeeper Alisson Becker injured himself when he wanted to execute a kick quickly and held his right thigh. For him came the replacement keeper Adrián, who was only appointed on Monday. How difficult Alison's injury was was initially unclear.
What's next? Liverpool are leaders, at least for one night. On Saturday champions Manchester City play against West Ham United.
