María Vicente changes the CAR Sant Cugat for San Sebastián with Cid
It is one of the great news of recent times. The Catalan María Vicente, until now training in the CAR of Sant Cugat with the combined technician Fernando Martínez, change of air. One of the great hopes of Spanish athletics has decided to leave the High Performance Center to move to San Sebastián and get under the orders of former RFEA technical director Ramón Cid.
Since 2017 I worked side by side with Vicente Martínez. Teaming up with him he achieved the European Under-20 Record in Boras last year (and automatically Spain's Record becoming the first to overcome the 6,000 point barrier).
Cid, ‘on fire’ with Errandonea
It is the case that Cid was in charge of making Maria debut at the international level when she was just 17 years old (Berlin European 2018). The reasons for this drastic decision by the L'Hospitalet heptathlete have not transcended, but a covered track season below expectations (along with some inconvenience) could have led to the change. Cid is also the coach of Teresa Errandonea, one of the sensations of Spanish athletics of the last months (it comes from making the third best national brand ever in the 60 hurdles).
