Maxim Dadashev: Russian boxer after emergency surgery in a coma

Boxer Maxim Dadaschew had to be hospitalized after the fight against Subriel Matias and put into an artificial coma.

The super lightweights had to take heavy hits in the fight before his coach Buddy McGirt threw in the towel at the end of the eleventh round. "He is in critical condition, but the doctor has told me that he is stable," said Dadaschew's strength and conditioning coach Donatas Janusevicius ESPN.

Dadaschew had resisted the abortion by his coach, but collapsed in the ring corner after the fight. In the clinic, the 28-year-old had to undergo a two-hour emergency surgery. There, the pressure on the brain caused by swelling was alleviated. Afterwards Dadaschew was put into an artificial coma.
