Mesut Özil: Robbery on Arsenal Star - teammate scares off attackers
Unknown people in London have tried to rob German football star Mesut Özil of Arsenal FC and his team-mate Sead Kolasinac. A surveillance video shows a man armed with a knife stepping on the car door where Özil sits. Kolasinac finally flies the attackers.
Özil was sitting in a Mercedes G-Class SUV when the incident occurred. According to "Daily Mail" the attackers were traveling on a scooter. In the video, which was distributed on Twitter, a man with a helmet can be seen. The ex-Schalke Kolasinac, who was probably at the wheel, should have jumped out of the car and drove off the attackers.
Özil ran according to the report in a Turkish restaurant. Employees then rushed to the aid. According to one witness, the men even ostracized Özil at first. "Özil looked like he was running for his life," the Daily Mail quoted the witness.
The police took a little later on site, the statements of the two football stars. Özil and Kolasinac had come back from a training camp the previous day to London.
An Arsenal spokesman confirmed that the two players were involved in an attempted robbery. According to Scotland Yard, the perpetrators are not ready yet.
