News : Oliver Bierhoff private: happily married! She is the woman at his side

There is no other way to say it: Oliver Bierhoff, born on May 1st, 1968 in Karlsruhe, made history. Not once, but several times. He entered the annals of world football on June 30, 1996, when he scored the first men’s golden goal in tournament history in the extension of the final of the European Football Championship and thus led Germany to the European Championship.

What Bierhof achieved as a player, he also succeeded as an official. When he was appointed team manager for the national team after the messed up European Football Championship in 2004, Bierhoff filled a position that had never existed before. It was created for him – yet another event steeped in history.

Oliver Bierhoff privately: Father Rolf was a member of the board of RWE

But let’s start at the beginning. Bierhoff made his first football steps with the Essen SG 99/06. He later worked for Schwarz-Weiß Essen and Bayer 05 Uerdingen. What football fans might not know: Oliver Bierhoff comes from a well-known family in Essen. His father Rolf Bierhoff not only played football at SG Düren 99 alongside football legend Karl-Heinz Schnellinger, he was also a member of the board of RWE AG. A circumstance that is said to have made it difficult for Bierhoff in some changing rooms.

By the way: TV presenter Nicole Bierhoff is Oliver Bierhoff’s older sister. The fact that Bierhoff, not always undisputed by DFB fans over the years, liked to hit the right note earlier, is shown (with a wink, of course) by the fact that he was a member of the Essen Cathedral Boys’ Choir when he was young.

Oliver Bierhoff career: From Uerdingen to Milan and Monaco

It is undisputed that Oliver Bierhof’s first professional years in the football business can be seen as mixed. From Bayer 05 Uerdingen, Oliver Bierhoff went to Hamburger SV, Borussia M’gladbach, SV Austria Salzburg and Ascoli Calcio to Udinese Calcio, where Bierhoff’s star really rose. In competitive games he made 57 stalls. This was followed by a three-year phase of success at AC Milan, where he was the top scorer in Serie A. After his time in Milan, Bierhoff still played at AS Monaco and AC Chievo Verona.

Oliver Bierhoff: Late career in the national team

It already sounded: When Bierhoff shot Germany to the European championship title in 1996, he was comparatively late-calling. It was not until he was 27 that he made his debut in the national dress in February of the same year. Up until his resignation in 2002, Bierhof played 70 times for the DFB-Elf, and before he left, he was runner-up at the side of Oliver Kahn in Japan and South Korea.

Oliver Bierhoff privately married to Mrs. Klara Szalantzy

Oliver Bierhoff largely keeps his private life out of the public eye. It is known, however, that he has been married to Klara Szalantzy (born on March 31, 1970) since June 22, 2001. The couple have a daughter (born 2007). However, joint public appearances by the couple are in short supply.
