News : On April 10 the International Para Athletics Meeting arrives in Hospitalet
L’Hospitalet Atletisme and the Fundació Pere Suñé organize for another year the L’Hospitalet International Paratletics Meeting. The appointment will take place on Saturday April 10 at the Complex Esportiu Municipal de L’Hospitalet Nord.
In a very special year for adapted athletes, as they will fight to achieve the dream of participating in the Paralympic Games in Tokyo, the Meeting comes six months after the last edition, marked by the additional effort of the organizers and volunteers due to the context social that has affected all levels, also sports.
Athletes can now register on the official website of the international meeting. In turn, the schedule and tests have been confirmed. The competition will start at 11am and will last until 1:15 pm. We will be able to enjoy the long jump, the 5000 meters, the 100 meters in different adapted variants, Weight and Discus throws or the 800m in a wheelchair.
Let us remember that in the previous season we were able to live the Spanish record of length of Sara Andrés, together with the participation of other outstanding athletes at the national level, such as Desireé Vila, Joan Munar, Xavi Porras or the local athlete Yassine Ouhdadi. In addition, in previous editions, we were able to see one of the best world athletes such as the German Markus Rehm.
The organizing team, under the maximum security measures established by the protocol to be followed on COVID19, wants this event to be a gateway to an outdoor season that is exciting for adapted athletics.
A good name is expected from the best Spanish athletes (possibly a large part of the team that will go to Tokyo) due to the proximity of the Paralympic Games and the need to be able to compete to catch shooting and look for minimums.
