News : Ralf Rangnick expresses interest in Löw’s successor: “At the moment I am free”
Ralf Rangnick has expressed interest in succeeding national coach Joachim Löw. It is a “position that leaves no one in Germany indifferent,” says the 62-year-old at Sky. “I can basically imagine anything. At the moment I’m free,” explains Rangnick.
The German Football Association (DFB) announced on Tuesday that Löw would stop after the EM this summer. “With calm and a sense of proportion,” the successor will be sought, said DFB President Fritz Keller. Jürgen Klopp has already canceled with reference to his current contract with Liverpool.
Rangnick, who was most recently active as a trainer and sports director at RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga, was open to working with DFB director Oliver Bierhoff. “I could imagine that working with Oliver Bierhoff would be very fruitful. It would be helpful to have someone who already knows the customs,” said Rangnick, recalling past meetings with the official: “At the DFB, there are many areas worked and thought in the right direction. “
