Tennis in Cincinnati: Madison Keys finals victory in the top ten

American Madison Keys won the WTA tournament in Cincinnati. The 24-year-old American prevailed in the final 7: 5, 7: 6 against the Russian Svetlana Kuznetsova.
Keys was 3: 5 behind in both sets. In the first set four games won in a row to 7: 5, in set two, the US Open finalist of 2017 had to go for her fifth overall victory on the WTA Tour on the tiebreak, which she won 7: 5 for themselves.
Keys, who has entered the tournament as the # 18 player in the world, returns to the top ten in the world ranking list after nearly 14 months with this first success at a WTA event in the highest category.
Kuznetsova, who had started with a wildcard, made an even bigger jump in the WTA ranking. The former world ranking second, after injury problems only number 198 in the world, is now back in 62nd place.
