EHC Munich determines the derby against Nuremberg only at the end – and wins 5-0.

A strong final third gave EHC Red Bull Munich their third success in a row in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL) on Friday. The Munich team won the home game against the Nürnberg Ice Tigers 5: 0 (1: 0, 0: 0, 4: 0), Danny aus den Birken managed his first clean sheet game of the season. “Today we only showed our best game at the end,” said Maximilian Kastner.
The derby started according to the taste of Munich: Trevor Parkes used the first outnumbered game to lead 1-0. For the Canadian, it was the 14th goal of the season that he had to wait eight games for. “Sometimes the goals come in waves,” he said during the first third break on TV station Magentasport. But the Franks held up well, especially running and fighting. Dane Fox had the reward at the beginning of the middle third, but the Ice Tigers attacker failed with his solo effort from the birches (21st).
Since Niklas Treutle also showed a good performance in the Nürnberger Tor and parried twice well against Ethan Prow (31st / 38th), it went with a narrow 1-0 lead for the EHC, who still for private reasons on defender Keith Aulie had to do without, in the final third. There again Parkes (42nd), Philip Gogulla by penalty (44th), Zach Redmond (50th) and Kastner (56th) made it 5-0.
