We can think that the Cheptegei, Kipchoge, Kamworor and company can hardly leave us with their mouths open after the barbarities that these last times have achieved both on the tartan and on the route, but the truth is that they still manage to impress us. Joshua Cheptegei, who is already in Valencia and was received with all the honors before attack this Sunday the 10k world record, starred in a final series show simply spectacular in his native Uganda. Specifically in Kapchorwa, a district located in the east of the African country and in one of whose training camps the current 10km world champion in Doha is exercised.

A training of hordego

The partners of ‘RUN’IX’ reflect this high-level, almost ‘inhuman’ training of Cheptegei at the Ugandan height (about 1,800 meters above sea level). Is about an 8 × 400 with two minute recovery between each series. Joshua follows a marked line on the grass running through a kind of dirt track. The partials that come out are the following:

59 ″
59 ″
59 ″
59.5 ″
57.4 ″
57.3 ″
54.4 ″
52.5 ″

A progressive increase in the pace that ends with a brutal 52.5 in the last 400 (projection of 131.25 ”, 2’11” per kilometer). Cheptegei is very confident and aware of the level of training that has been set. "I go to Valencia for a single purpose and for a single reason: be the fastest man in history in the 10 kilometers ”.
