News : This is how it affects outdoor sports and gyms
We go back in time and we are forced to do the same as last May. Review how the de-escalation of this second wave of the coronavirus pandemic will be. The situation improves little by little in hospitals and the incidence of the virus is lower and the trend is that it continues to decline in the coming weeks. That is why the autonomous communities have got down to work to present their plans for a gradual return to ‘normality’. To the new normal, of course. One of them is Catalunya, which hhas presented a ‘planing’ divided into four sections in which the idea is to give more freedom, but maintaining restrictions and always taking into account the evolution of the pandemic throughout the next month of December. In fact, only the first two sections (November 23 and December 7) have an exact start date.
As far as we are concerned here, we are going to review how this de-escalation affects sports activity both outdoors and in ‘indoor’ facilities (read gyms, tracks, pavilions, etc.
Section 1 (as of November 23):
The outdoor sports facilities and equipment, with a capacity of 50% and access control. Sports facilities and equipment in closed spaces with a maximum capacity of 30%, by appointment and without changing rooms (except in the case of the use of swimming pools) Competitions are kept suspended.
For the training groups, sports activities can be practiced outdoors with a maximum of six people. The federated will be able to practice their sport in neighboring municipalities between 6 am on Friday and 6 on Monday.
Section 2 (As of December 7):
The outdoor sports facilities and equipment are kept open, with a maximum capacity of 50%, together with the gyms and sports equipment (without being able to use the changing rooms) and swimming pools in closed spaces. The federated, non-competitive sports practice is expanded, both outdoors and in closed spaces. Sports activities can be done outdoors with a maximum of six people, with the exception of federated sports, which has no limitation.
Open air sports facilities and equipment, with a maximum capacity of 70%, together with gyms and sports equipment (without being able to use the changing rooms) and swimming pools. Indoor physical activity is limited to 50% of the capacity.
In the sports field, the same measures of the previous section are maintained with the only variation that sports competitions are recovered.
