Union Berlin: fans provide action for the first emotional highlight of the season
The followers of the Iron Commemorate their deceased relatives with posters in the stands. To start into the new season, the Alte Försterei is sold out with 22,012 spectators. But 450 dead Union fans are also involved.
Union fans with great action before RB game
Before the game against RB, fan clubs of the Berlin had launched the action "finally here". For 13 euros, Union fans were able to print the photo of a deceased trailer, a former player or club member on a wide 70 cm high and wide poster.
The action was originally planned for the relegation match against VfB Stuttgart. But the leaders of the respective fan federations were not yet completely satisfied. "But then we wanted to create a better concept," said Torsten Eisenbeiner from fanclub Alt-Unioner.
On Sunday at 18.00 o'clock the time has finally come: For the club anthem sung by Nina Hagen "Eisern Union" the photos will be held up. 450 more people have thus symbolically the opportunity to be present at the Bundesliga debut.
