"Your head is not 100 percent": After raid in London: Özil and Kolasinac get a break from the game
Assault victims Mesut Özil and Sead Kolasinac have been ordered to take a break from their game at Arsenal. Coach Unai Emery decided against playing the duo at Sunday's test match against Olympique Lyon because the two football stars seem to be struggling with the aftermath of the failed attack by two knife-armed men.
"They came this morning, but they were not ready to play the game," coach Emery (47) said after beating the French 2-1.
"It's not a good moment to play because your head is not 100 percent. These are very personal circumstances and the most important thing is that they feel good, feel safe and are carefree for their family, "the Arsenal coach explained. The two football professionals had barely escaped a robbery on the open road in London on Thursday and remained unhurt. As video footage showed, Kolasinac fended off the culprits with his bare hands.
Already on Friday, the former football world champions Özil (30) and Kolasinac (26) returned to the Arsenal training. "We will look from day to day now. Tomorrow we'll check again how they are doing, "Emery said.
